DC/ Warner Bros. Comic Con Roundup

Here’s everything you need to know about the DC/ Warner Bros. comic con panel.

Let’s start with Batman. Ben Affleck has finally been confirmed as director. Great news!

He had this to tweet

On to Wonder Woman and the first poster was revealed a few days ago and now we’ve been treated to the first trailer, hot from Hall H. And it looks bloody great. Just waiting for the lonely trolls to start complaining that the lead is a female…anytime now just you wait.

On to Justice League and Henry Cavill appeared on stage with the rest of the cast to nobody’s surprise. He’s even smiling in this picture of the League assembled. Maybe we’ll be getting a more cheery Superman from now on. We can only hope.

And here’s some footage. I think I love Ben Affleck. The tone of this looks spot on. Well done DC. It looks very Batman/ Wonder Woman centric which is definitely a good thing.

Suicide Squad is released in a couple of weeks and we even got some new footage from that, a bit too much in my opinion. That’s a shame because up until now, I’ve felt that their marketing has been pretty spot on, not revealing too much. They just couldn’t help themselves.

Over to TV and we’ve got trailers from Arrow and Flash, the later of which teases the Flashpoint storyline.

Here’s the Flash

AND we’ve got the new LEGO Batman trailer, which looks absolutely brilliant.

Moving away from DC and Warner Bros. have released the trailer for Kong: Skull Island. That’s one big ape.

We’ve also been treated to the trailer to Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur. Not sure what to make of this one. It looks OK I guess.

And it doesn’t end there, WB have also released the latest trailer for the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This looks pretty fun. Maybe it won’t be as terrible as the other HP films.

We’ve been spoiled there a bit I think. I honestly didn’t think we’d get the Justice League stuff online so quickly. I guess DC felt they had to get fans and critics back on board pretty quickly after the abuse Batman v Superman received. And boy did they deliver. If you felt that DC wasn’t heading anywhere interesting, I think it’s time to rethink that after what we’ve just seen. We’ll be talking all things comic con in our next podcast which will be released next week. Any thoughts or comments please get in touch in the comments or @ReelFilm_Movies

  1. I have been immensely impressed by the Justice League trailer, wasn’t expecting it to look anywhere near as good as that. Just from the trailer you can tell the film has a different vibe from the previous Superman films.

    • I was honestly shocked they released anything, especially online. I thought the most they’d do was do a Hall H exclusive. Yeah it’s looks like such a fun vibe, without copying what Marvel are doing. While Batman is typically not a funny character, they’ve got his humour spot on here.

      • Yeah what’s been shown so far is very much the dry wit of Batman. That said the small part of Flash seem’s to have Barry Allen’s humour nailed too. Then there’s just the fact that there was A LOT of Aquaman, which is the best thing to ever happen……sort of.
